ZEN RIZING and Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger of THE DOORS at the World Famous Whisky a Go Go!

As many of you may know, last Friday night, August 19th,  ZEN RIZING played an unforgettable show with the legendary Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger of THE DOORS at the World Famous Whisky a Go Go for the 40th anniversary celebration of The Doors’ classic album ‘LA Woman.’  In addition, they shared the stage with the marvelously talented Kathryn Gallagher, a 17 year old singer/songwriter with the soul of Siren and a voice of unapologetic velvet.  All three acts made a new stamp on that already experienced stage.

ZEN RIZING claimed the stage with the vigor of a lion and the ambiance of a star.  The four members, vocalist Scott Foster Harris, guitarist Steve Preach, drummer Buddy Iahn, and bassist Cody Duke came together and delivered and punch of Tribal Psychedelic Rock that the Whisky and all of its attendees that evening shall carry with them in all of their future musical experiences.

The soulful Kathryn Gallagher took the emotion of the evening and twisted the heartfelt dagger into the hearts of everyone in the room.  All in attendance were moved and smitten with her delightful delivery of musical candy.  Truly a talent to be reckoned with.

And, of course, Ray and Robbie of THE DOORS led a band through a saga of Doors’ material with the accuracy and vigilance of Generals causing everyone both inside and outside of the club to be transported back to the late 60′s and experience the mystique and hypnotic perfection of that fantastic, unequaled band.  A night that shall live on indeed…..

Look for more of ZEN RIZING and Kathryn Gallagher as the year progresses.
